It took me 4 years to earn $1,119 with this blog but my earnings are accelerating
I have noticed that the speed at which I've been making money has increased. My short-term goal is to make $15 dollars this month, $30 next month, $60 next month, $120 next month and so on for the rest of the year. This will put me at $240 by June. Tomorrow I will reveal my game plan and strategy.
Short term goals for November
Where we've come from and where we'd like to go
I started this financial blog a few years ago using it as a tool to track my financial progress with the hopes of increasing my financial knowledge and improving my bottom line. I've learned a lot in these few short years and hope to share all the useful information with readers to increase your financial knowledge and your bottom line. One thing I've found to be very useful and motivation is to set goals. Here are a few of my financial goals.
Short term goal: have $30,000 in ING Direct Savings account by June 15th
Midterm goal: $30,000 in 401K by Nov. 2009
End of year goal: Net worth of $100,000
Long term goal: Net worth of $1,000,000 by 50 years of age
Do you have any financial goals? If so what are they?

Revisiting this year's goals
Start a Roth IRA before tax time (place $500 in) - did not do
Open a Sharebuilder account and buy stock (invest $50 in an IPO and $50 in a dividend paying company) - not yet
Continue saving with my 401K (readjust as necessary 2006 brought in a 17.1% return) - yes
Paint and fix up house - working on it
Teach dog to catch a frisbee - not yet
Learn more about solar energy consider installing on roof (long term project) - yes
Spend more time with friends and family - yes
Continue sharing ideas with PF bloggers and contribute to the community - yes
I have completed some goals but failed at others.
I still have about half a year to complete the others
Other goals
Buy a domain
build a high traffic website that produces $100 a month passively from advertising

Keep it simple. Stay on track
If a million dollars seems like an unreachable goal. Set yourself up with short-term and midterm goals. Break it down to saving $100 a month or even $20 a week. Once you reach your short-term goals continue until you are able to reach bigger goals. Celebrate reaching savings milestones, but don't celebrate by going on a shopping spree that would defeat the purpose. My current goals include saving an extra $100 a month to fund an Roth IRA and investment account. I would also like to build up my savings by $24,000 each year. That would mean saving at least $2000 dollars a month. It may take a few years before my savings account start to build a lot of interest. My midterm goal is to have at least twice my current yearly income in savings ($120,000) by the time I reach 40. I think I'll have about $30,000 in my 401k by 30, and hopefully ($120,000) by the time I'm 40. Then I'll be able to cruise into my 50th not having to worry about retirement.
Goals
We need to find a way to live off of one income. Our monthly expenses still exceed the amount I make a month and if and when my wife needs to take off of work to raise our children I want to be ready. I don't want to go through major lifestyle changes because we are downsizing to one salary. The way I think we can go about this is by gradually switching all of her earnings over to a savings account and go on a test run (living off my salary, one salary). I am going to go back to school (while working full-time) to increase my salary and earning potential. I will also be expanding my passive income by developing more websites. I hope to replicate the success of this site, which brings in a few dollars a month. In 5 years I want to be able to pay off the mortgage payment with passive income accumulated from websites. I feel this is an attainable goal. I will write able some of my other interests including: car, home improvements, lawn care, fitness, etc.
Who are you, what do you do, and what would you do?
If you read this please answer the following questions.
1. Why do you read this feed?
2. What is your profession?
3. What is your age?
4. What would you do with a million dollars?
I'll go first. I write this blog in order to find the best ways to make a million dollars and share the resources with anyone who is curious. Making a million dollars is a goal I have and I believe many other people share. I want to share my trials and errors to help others reach their goals. I am a health care professional. I'm a registered nurse. I'm 27. I believe that anyone can make a million dollars if they are determined to. In three days I started to make money, and now there is a pretty steady stream coming in. The key now is to accelerate the process and the amount that comes in without putting more and more time into writing. I know the next step would be to set up a dot-com website and start to sell products, and do a lot more referrals and affiliate programs. Currently I've put no money into this project and I do not intend to yet. If I had a million dollars, I would donate some to charity, invest some, travel, write, play music, and buy a farm (with some animals) raise boxer dogs and grow corn (that's my retirement plan). Basically keep everything the same except the farm.
