Business of the Month Musical Information

This month the business that I will attempt to create is a company that makes factual songs for children. I found out that it is a lot easier to learn things for some people when they are set to music. Many people can recall the words to their favorite song, but may forget the Gettysburg Address. It should be creative and fun to do. One thing I must pursue is creating a business plan for each of the businesses I intend on pursuing. If you fail to plan then you plan to fail.

I just won another book in a comment contest!

Emmanuel presents Emmanuel Oluwatosin: Inspiring Excellence, Realising Ambitions » Blog Archive » You dont need more money! posted at Comments on: You dont need more money!, saying, "he day was a Monday and the atmosphere was calm. It was as if it was going to rain. I had just heard the news that our salary had already been paid into our bank accounts. Only God could explain how happy and joyous many of us were to hear the news. I, therefore, did not waste time as I went to my bank immediately to collect the money.

To my utmost disappointment, I got to the bank only to discover that my account had not been credited with said salary. I became confused as I didn’t understand what the next line of action would be. I was at the bank later after some days to collect the money however."

You may think credit cards are incredible...

I say don't give your credit cards too much credit. The more credit you have the higher a liability you have, meaning if you're credit limit is extremely high (due to good credit) you may have banks seeing you as a bigger liability, which is not good when it comes to getting a loan. My credit card company MBNA had been automatically increasing my limit, because of my timely payments and good history. I did not need a higher limit, so I asked them to reduce it. Now I got rid of my account altogether and joined with my better half.

One good site where you can buy a variety of goods is Owner Reviews, this site utilizes an Amazon shopping cart and provides ratings and reviews of the many products so you can check them out before purchasing. Re-evaluating my 401K with the help of internet research

22.47% 23.51% 14.10% 13.07% 11.94%

This is the Fund that I'll be investing in with my 401K. I was able to do some research and found that this fund ranks high in the MorningStar and Lipper Rating systems.

Feeling Lucky? Las Vegas Real Estate may be your best bet.

If you are planning to move to the exciting city of sin, Las Vegas Nevada check out Las Vegas Real Estate. This site allows you to view pictures of houses online without talking to a Realtor and they are offering great deals (low commissions or flat fees). Strike a deal while the market is hot. • How to Make a Million Dollars
  • The 4 greatest ways to create wealth

After rigorous research I have found that there are only a few great ways to create wealth. There are as follows:

    1. ENTREPENUER - Start your own successful business - trademark it, make it into a franchise, find good people to run it for you. The risk is great, and so is the reward. The amount of wealth you can create is limitless. The ultimate would be to create a company, and take it public, much in the fashion of Microsoft or Google.
    2. INVESTOR - Invest in stocks - if you are able to pick out great companies and get in on a large amount of their IPO (initial public offerings of stock) at a low price, you can make a great amount of money. You can easily make hundreds of times the amount of money you put in, in a few years. Or you could try real estate, which is also very popular. Renting out a house, a condo, or apartments, buildings, warehouses, can bring in a lot of passive income. In this racket timing is everything.
    3. WORKER - Become a specialist, or excel in your field as a employee. Be the best at what you do. As an expert people will seek out your services.
    4. ARTIST - Again using your creative powers, to succeed in music, or art (writing, acting), and using your fame to your advantage.

Save money on presents (Birthday, Christmas)

If you have a big family, or extended family, gifts can become a large expense depending on how many people you are providing for. One great idea for large families is a grab bag for Christmas. Everyone put's a their name in a hat and then you only have to buy a present for the person you pick. This system has been used for years and is usually called a Sercet Santa. Also you could chose to impliment a new ruling in the extended family by putting an age limit on gifts. Presents for children only (less than 18 years of age) . If you have over 10 cousin's and neices, newphews etc. this could save you a great deal of money and aggrevation. Also if you implement a Secret Santa, you can limit the amount you spend save $50 or $100, and you'll save money. Instead of buying 20 small $20 dollar gifts you buy one large gift. Try it out.

Use the invisible grip to negotiate.

I read an interesting article about the power of the "invisble grip" which is basically eye-contact and learned a few things about negotiating.
    1. People may become uncomfortable when forced to make eye contact
    2. People may feel confronted or threatened when making eye contact
    3. People may drop prices if you stare at them.
When I was vacationing in Mexico, we went to a Playa De Carmen. We walked down a street busy with noise and music, shops, and foods. We walked into a shop and looked around, asking about the price of certain pieces. I wanted to buy a clay mask, but I didn't want to pay a lot for a souvenir. The owner came over and talked to me about what a great piece I was looking at and quoted me a price the equivalent of $50. I didn't show any real interest, but continued to examine the piece, he continued to drop the price in $5 increments until it was $30 (his final offer) I walked away because I only had a $20. When I got to the door of the shop he shouted out $20, but that's it (I have a wife and family etc.). Anyway I ended up getting the mask for what I thought was a fair price without having to haggle. Next time I'll have to try having a staring contest with the salesman to get a discount.

    How Unwiredbuyer works

Unwiredbuyer is a new service provided by Ebay that allows you to make bids on the phone. Just for signing up (if you have a 12 month old account or feedback score >10) you will get a twenty dollar bonus. In order to get the bonus, you must bid on an item using your phone, put an item on your watch list (preferrably a 10 cent ebook) and then Unwiredbuyer will call you when there is 3min left in bidding, bid using your phone (follow the prompts, I think it's 1 then the #) to bid. After you bid, you will qualify for the twenty dollar bonus, you are not required to win the auction. After you are signed up you can refer a friend for a $5 bonus.

    Facelift

My site is getting an extreme makeover to make it easier on the eyes, and more user friendly. Let me know what you think.

    Currently reading "THE BIG MONEY"

A big thank you to Tim over at www.mymoneyforest.com for the excellent book about investing and picking stocks called "The Big Money" by Fredrick Kobrick. Check out his site, it has a lot of good information. Hopefully this book will help me find a up and coming company to invest in.
