401K Doing well

401K is doing quite well due to the bull market. Recently surpassed $12,000 with a return rate to date of 12.5%. Not too bad. I am trying to setup the account to follow the foreign markets, because a lot of them are growing much faster than the U.S. economy.

Stock Market going down today, time to buy in

Today the stock market will likely drop a few hundred points due to fears of increasing interest rates. When all the dipping is done, it seems like it would be a good time to buy in. I have about $200 to spend, I'll be opening a Sharebuilder account tomorrow and plan on picking up some stock. I am interested in Home Depot, Microsoft, McDonald's, and a few others. Any suggestions?

The 4 Hour Work Week?

How Many Hours do you work a week? Tim Ferris thinks you should only be working 4 hrs a week. Check out his book The 4 Hour Work Week to find out why. I work about 45-50 hrs a week and get paid overtime.

Revisiting this year's goals

Start a Roth IRA before tax time (place $500 in) - did not do
Open a Sharebuilder account and buy stock (invest $50 in an IPO and $50 in a dividend paying company) - not yet
Continue saving with my 401K (readjust as necessary 2006 brought in a 17.1% return) - yes
Paint and fix up house - working on it
Teach dog to catch a frisbee - not yet
Learn more about solar energy consider installing on roof (long term project) - yes
Spend more time with friends and family - yes
Continue sharing ideas with PF bloggers and contribute to the community - yes

I have completed some goals but failed at others.

I still have about half a year to complete the others

build a high traffic website that produces $100 a month passively from advertising
